Q-Pop Exhibition at Design Days Dubai, March 17 - 21, 2014…

Next week, a few colleagues, Graduate Program alumni, and I, will be exhibiting at the Design Days Dubai, which takes place between March 17 - 21, 2014.

Our stand/ exhibit is called 'Q-Pop' (a contextualized rendition of 'K-Pop' or 'J-Pop', terms representing very particularized genres of Korean and Japanese popular culture). Along with providing a contextualized take of design work conceived and mainly realized in Qatar, the logo above also represents the potpourri of work we plan to exhibit (the logo was designed by Jordan Gushwa)…

Good times…

Tokyu Hands, Tokyo...

The front facade of Toyu Hands', Shibuya-ku store...

Tokyu Hands, perhaps the most brilliant store, ever… Wether you need a toothbrush or two, a shoe-form (or two), plastic grass, buttons, a paper fan, magic hands, an ear-wax remover, sticker flags, ink stamps, plastic skeletons, inflatable mannequins, a wig, a model of a robot, to know your calorie count whilst ascending a staircase, or just a cup of coffee - Tokyu Hands is your place…

Eminent..!

Wouldn't it be grand to have one of these in Doha (Daiso on steroids)..?!
