After seeing this post, I have a new appreciation for these buildings. I say a new appreciation because of one particular building: Jean Nouvel's skyscraper. Although Nouvel's creation looks gorgeous up close, I have to say my initial impression was: corn dog. And it further surprised me (rather pleasurably I must admit) that when lit up at night, it was the color of a corn dog too! And up to now I just couldn't shake that association out of my mind. Thank you for reintroducing me to this beautiful, previously-victimized-by-me building.
